i am so obscenely, viscerally in love with phoenix mendoza's writing. her work is fleshy, bubbling, and half-alive in the best way possible. while a lot of her stories have vivid descriptions of violence and death, her substack is pleasantly soft.

i'm obsessed with carnalhaus' writing and art! i am particularly obsessed with her series 'american tradition'. very gritty. it feels like lingering too long on a photo album, staring at love once had and long lost.
